Description
The Financial Goals & Milestones workbook is a financial goals and net worth tracker spreadsheet (for Google Sheets or Excel) that helps you set clear goals, see where you stand today and project where you’re headed over the next 10 years.
Set your financial goals (short, mid, and long term)
List your goals by time frame, from building an emergency fund this year to retiring at 60. Give each one a target date, a cost, what you’ve saved so far and a step-by-step plan. Then feature your top four on the Goals & Milestones Overview, so the goals that matter most right now are the first thing you see.
Track your net worth in one spreadsheet
- Current Net Worth. Every account totaled by category.
- Overview. Net worth broken into cash, investments, retirement, real estate and more, plus four key ratios (solvency, debt-to-assets, liquidity and investments-to-net-worth).
- Historical Net Worth. Up to 10 years of past data, so you can see how far you’ve come. (No history? That’s okay! You can start from today.)
- 10-Year Projection. Where your net worth is headed, based on your own assumptions.
To track your net worth, you can export from YNAB or Monarch Money and paste it in (a built-in automation formats the columns for you). You can also link your accounts with Tiller (Google Sheets only, and it’s what I use!), or enter balances by hand. Update monthly or quarterly.
What’s included
- The workbook in Google Sheets and Excel versions
- 25-page step-by-step PDF instructions and a video walkthrough
- Optional automations for setup and for rolling over to a new year (every step can also be done by hand)
Before you buy
This is a spreadsheet you fill in yourself, and you’ll want to be comfortable working in Google Sheets or Excel. The initial setup takes the most time (have your account statements and debt balances handy). After that, updates are quick.
