MYMM Sync for YNAB Add-on

1. Information We Collect

When you use our service, we collect the following types of information:

  • OAuth2 Tokens: Access tokens are obtained through the YNAB OAuth2 authorization flow to interact with your YNAB account and securely pull in your budget data.
  • Google User Data (Primary Google Account Email Address): When you authorize the add-on using “Sign in with Google,” we collect your primary Google Account email address. This is used to associate you with your personal information on Google and to provide a consistent user experience within your Google environment.
  • Google Sheets Data: The add-on is designed to view and manage the specific Google Sheets spreadsheet where it is installed. This allows the add-on to fetch and import your YNAB budget data (specifically category totals) directly into your spreadsheet. We do not access or collect data from any other Google Sheets files you may have.
We do not collect or store any personal financial data from your YNAB account or any other personally identifiable information beyond what is explicitly mentioned here.
 

2. How We Use Your Information

The information collected (via OAuth2) is solely used for:

  • Authentication and Interaction with YNAB: OAuth2 tokens are used to securely authenticate with your YNAB account and access your budget data (budgets, accounts, categories, payees, payee locations, months, transactions).
  • Data Import into Google Sheets: The add-on uses its access to your Google Sheets file to import the fetched YNAB budget data directly into your spreadsheet.
  • User Identification: Your primary Google Account email address is used to associate you with your add-on usage and provide a personalized experience.

3. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Temporary Tokens: OAuth2 tokens are stored temporarily in your session to allow the integration to function. These tokens are automatically discarded when no longer needed (such as upon sign-out or when you revoke access to the add-on).
  • Google User Data (Email Address): Your primary Google Account email address is retained only for the duration of your active use of the add-on. If you uninstall the add-on or revoke its permissions, your email address is no longer associated with our service.
  • No Permanent Data Storage: We do not permanently store any YNAB budget data, financial data, or any other personal data on our servers. All data processing occurs in real-time between your Google Sheet and the YNAB API.
You can initiate the deletion of any associated data by:
  • Uninstalling the Add-on: Removing the MYMM Sync for YNAB add-on from your Google Sheets will revoke its access and stop any further data collection.
  • Revoking Permission from your Google Account: You can manage and revoke third-party app access to your Google Account at any time by visiting your Google Account security settings. This will immediately cease all data access by the add-on.

4. Data Security

We prioritize the security of your data. We utilize OAuth2 for secure access to your YNAB account. OAuth tokens are transmitted securely over HTTPS, ensuring that your data is encrypted and protected during transit. We do not store sensitive YNAB account credentials.

5. Your Rights

You have control over your data and can:

  • Disconnect your YNAB account: You can disconnect your YNAB account at any time via the sign-out option within the add-on, which will immediately revoke the add-on’s access to your YNAB account.
  • Manage Google Permissions: As mentioned above, you can revoke the add-on’s access to your Google Account data at any time through your Google Account security settings.

6. Third-Party Access

We do not share your data with third-party services, except for the essential YNAB API service necessary for the add-on’s core functionality.
