The MYMM Sync for YNAB add-on allows you to automatically import category totals from your YNAB budget into your Personal Finance Bundle workbook.
This way, you can streamline the process of importing your YNAB cash flow information (you know, all of that data you’ve been so diligent in keeping up in YNAB!) for other aspects of your financial plan, including: setting an emergency fund goal, tax planning, retirement needs calculation, life insurance needs estimation, and more!

Technically, no, you don’t need to use the Cash Flow Tracking workbook (part of the Personal Finance Bundle) to use this Add-on. You can install the add-on and it will set up a “Transactions” sheet in the format required to run the Add-on.
However, you will need to format your data and spreadsheet in a way to pull the information in if you’re not using my templates.
This tool currently only provides the functionality to import category totals by month. I hope to expand it in the future with the ability to pull in account balances and possibly transactions (instead of category totals) if there’s enough interest.

Yes! The importer allows you to choose a default budget, but also allows you to select the budget you wish to import from each time you use it.
So, if you create a fresh start in YNAB (if you’re like me and prefer to have a clean slate each year!), you’ll be able to change the budget you use to import information.
Yes. We use OAuth2 to securely authenticate with your YNAB account. No financial data is stored permanently — access tokens are held temporarily during your session and discarded once you’re done.
You can install the add-on directly through Google Workspace Marketplace. Once installed, it will appear under “Extensions’ in your Google Sheets toolbar.
Currently, the MYMM Sync for YNAB tool is only available for Google Sheets users.
If there’s enough interest, I plan to work with my developer to create an Excel extension with the same capability. Please let me know through my contact page if you’re interested in this tool for Excel!
